Professor Taiwo Osipitan, SAN, is the Chairman of the Unilag Consult Management Board (UCMB). He obtained his Bachelors of Law andLetters (LL.B. (HONS)) Between 1977 to 1980from the University of Lagos, Akoka,Lagos State, Nigeria, Barrister at Law (B.L.), qualification from the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos,Nigeria in 1982, a Masters of Law degree, with Distinction from the London School of Economics & Political Science, London, England in 1982 and became a Professor of Public Law inOctober 1998 at the University of Lagos, Akoka,Lagos State, Nigeria.
Professor Osipitan, SAN,has lectured at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lagos for close to 34 years. He was at various times a Part-time Lecturer at the LagosState University, Ojo, where he taught Insurance Law and Law ofEvidence as well as at the Faculty of Law, Ogun State University, where he lectured in Law of Evidence.He was also the Special Adviser on Legal and Constitutional Matters to the Chiefof General Staff and Vice Chairman of the Provisional Ruling Council of the FederalRepublic of Nigeria from July 1998 up till May 1999.
In September 2002, Professor TaiwoAdetayoIbitolaOsipitan, SAN, due to hardwork and diligence at the Nigerian Bar was elevated to the Rank of a SeniorMember of The Nigerian Bar by the conferment of the title of Senior Advocate ofNigeria (S.A.N.) on him, the highest position that could be conferred on membersof the Nigerian Bar. His inaugural Lecture delivered in 2004 titled ‘AnAutochthonous Constitution for Nigeria; Myth or Reality’ remains a leadingauthority in the decided precedents in Constitution making in Nigeria.
As a renowned Scholar and Professor of Professors, Professor Osipitan, SAN haswritten many articles and papers which have been published in various Booksand (Law) Journals.
